WON’T YOU COME HOME RALPH BAILEY…Had to run to Los Angeles for the day dealing with what else … family issues. This unconditional love thing is starting to get on my nerves. Just kidding! I love my family and would move heaven and earth if I could make their lives better. I know that’s how I was raised. Wouldn’t trade my childhood with anyone’s and as my mom grows older, she turns 73 July 31, the least I can do, as the horrible son that i am, is be there for her WHENEVER! Take note young people!
THANKS AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY…Appreciate the love sent out by TBC CEO Richard Beene, who celebrates a birthday this Thursday. I won’t tell you how old “Rico” is (as his close friends refer to him) but no matter how long in the tooth, he’s in great shape and stays fit and active riding bikes. I’m not kidding. Mr. Beene highlighted “TRBS” in a recent column for our work raising $18,600 for Honor Flight Kern County.
KILLING KERN WITH KINDNESS … Our inaugural Kindness Crew event will take place at Ronald McDonald House at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 17th. As you may know, I’ve long been an advocate for a children’s hospital here but in the meantime, we must make do with additional wards, specific units and the RMH. So please join us in helping raise funds and donations of goods. Your $20 donations gets you a free lunch from Hodel’s Country Dining or if you’d like please donate one or more items from the RMH “most wanted” items. (The “most wanted” list can be found in yesterday’s blog.)
