During an appearance on “First Look with Scott Cox,” Diane Cox, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, and Mark Luque, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, outlined the scale of the district’s recruitment efforts.
“We are looking to hire at least 100 teachers because we’re the largest (kindergarten through eighth grade) district in California,” said Diane Cox, who added that the district expects to have several retirements in the coming years from its teaching staff. “We’re looking to hire 100 qualified, excellent teachers to come work with our students in Bakersfield.
