The latest terror attacks in Paris and California gave us something relatively new- female terrorists. Terror attacks have always been largely carried out by a pretty small demographic- muslim men in their 20’s and thirties. Well now we’ve seen the new face of radical islam, and women are fully involved. This will be a big problem as we try to fight terror around the world. The woman who died in the shootout in Redlands was a fully actualized terrorist who was clearly trained and motivated,maybe even before she came here from Saudi Arabia. This new development will likely be the end of the “fiance visa” program, and will surely change the arguments about how the Syrian refugees are “mostly women and children”. That thought is suddenly a lot less comforting.
