The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the San Joaquin Valley, including much of Kern County, starting Friday and stretching into Saturday evening. Friday’s high is expected to be 105, but the Weather Service is forecasting a high of 107 for Bakersfield on Sunday and a high of 108 on Sunday.
The National Weather Service is also issuing a moderate risk warning for those sensitive to heat in the greater Bakersfield area. The deserts of eastern Kern County, however, including Ridgecrest, will be under an excessive heat warning with highs expected to hit 111 degrees.
With all of that menacing news about the heat, we wanted to share some photos from the Central Coast, where Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo can expect highs in the low 80s.
