Walter Stormont is currently serving as Kern Radio, News Talk 1180’s afternoon reporter and anchor.

 

Originally from Janesville, Wisconsin, Stormont has lived in Bakersfield nearly his entire life with just a little time in Fresno while attending Fresno State University. Walter has a B.A. in Journalism and along the way has served as editor of the Renegade Rip at Bakersfield College. He has written for and edited a number of community newspapers.

 

Stormont spends part of his time freelancing, producing newsletters for organizations along with various writing projects. His radio experience includes four-and-a-half years as producer and co-host of Ed De Boer’s "Return to Eden," a weekly talk show that ran on AGM sister stations KGEO and KERI.

 

Walter is deeply involved in his church, serving as an usher and occasionally acting in plays. He loves to go walking, reads quite a bit and watches old movies. Walter is also an accomplished poet whose works have appeared in a number of publications including The Lyric, Mature Living, and the Lutheran Digest.
