Theresa Ebreo
Reporter/Anchor

Theresa Ebreo signed on to co-anchor Bakersfield’s First Morning News in August of 2010.  Her news philosophy is to inform, educate and empower the public.

Prior to landing her first radio gig with Kern Radio, News Talk 1180, Theresa was the television host of Better Bakersfield at KBFX-TV.  She was also the weekend news anchor and reporter at KERO-TV.  Theresa is an award winning journalist.  She received the Mark of Excellence Regional Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for Television Newscast.

Theresa was first bitten by the broadcasting bug in high school, where she announced campus events over the Public Address system once a week.  She grew up in San Diego and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in journalism, from San Francisco State University.  Theresa wrote for her school newspapers and magazine.  During college, she interned at KMVT in Mountain View, CA, where she anchored a news magazine type show.  After graduating college, Theresa worked as a reporter at KAAL-TV in Austin, Minnesota (A.K.A. Spam Town USA).  She was soon promoted to morning anchor, and later moved up to the evening anchor spot.

Theresa enjoys hosting community events and mentoring students.  She volunteers her time working on the monthly newsletter and year book at her daughter’s school.  When she’s not bringing you the news, Theresa enjoys spending time with her husband, Jonathan, their 4-year old daughter, Jade, and their Boxers, Rocky and Portia.
