Local Better Business Bureau Warns of Memorial Day Scams

Memorial Day is a time to honor our veterans, but it's also a time for scammers to take advantage of those who have served our nation.  The Better Business Bureau is warning you about con artists who are targeting military members and their families.
Bakersfield BBB manager Connie Alarcon says, “Some of them actually pose as the V.A. Administration representative and they contact veterans and tell them they need to update their credit card.”
The scammers also try to sell services to family members by saying their deployed military loved one already approved the purchase.  Alarcon advises you to never give out personal information and to verify a charity before you donate.  For more information go to to www.bbb.org.
