Three Cars Impounded During Traffic Bust

FEBRUARY 9, 2012 -- Bakersfield police are on the lookout for speeders.

BPD's Traffic Enforcement Detail held a patrol in town Wednesday looking for speeders and red light runners. Police said 49 tickets were written: 46 for red light violations and three for code violations.

Three people were driving on suspended licenses and one person never had a license in the first place. All three cars were impounded.

Funding comes from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
