TAKE SURVEY: Help Make Bako Safer For Bicyclists

Bakersfield and surrounding areas could become more bike friendly under a master plan by the Kern Council of Governments. But you need to help by taking part in an online survey.

Do you almost get run over by a car or truck while on your bicycle while riding to work, school, or just by trying to get to the Kern Bike Path? Now you can voice your bike concerns. The group is taking input to identify popular destinations and make the streets safer for cyclists and pedestrians.

Public workshops were held last week in Bakersfield and Kernville and there's one more Tuesday night in the Ridgecrest City County Chambers.

You can provide much needed input by taking an online survey at KernCountyBikePlan.com. Pay particular attention to numbers three and four on the survery.

On number three you can only list one street, but if you feel all of Bakersfield needs to be more bike friendly, then say son in the survey in No. 4.
