Officials said 61-year-old Duane Prietz was found with over 200 animals on his Rosamond, Calif. property last week, and most of them were in bad shape. Now Prietz is free, because under the law, prosecuters can't file charges until Animal Control officers get the proper paperwork together.
Officers have been busy relocating and examining animals since Prietz called asking for help. A manager with Animal Control said they hope to gather the requested information and resubmit the case.
In all, 215 animals from horses to pigs were found on Prietz's property.
